Journey to the Apus

Salkantay . Pachatusan . Perolniyoc

The Pilgrimage to Peru 2018 is our most special journey yet. It comes at a time of enormous change, a time when the need to live in ayni with the natural world could not be more important.

It is not a tourist trip. While you will be exceptionally well looked after, the essence of the journey is to visit some very sacred parts of the Andes in the appropriate manner.

Our pilgrimage will involve many shamanic teachings. You will participate in traditional Andean ceremonies such as the despacho. You will have the opportunity to receive traditional healing and divination, and to work with some of the great teacher plants, with the guidance of an amazing team of medicine men and women.

Carried by the magic and grandeur of this spectacular country, you will ascend step by step, physically, emotionally and spiritually to meet two the great apus or mountain spirits, Salkantay and Pachatusan, and receive their blessing and wisdom. You have the opportunity of a life-changing experience.
Perhaps the best known medicine man in the Sacred Valley, Maestro Puma Quispe is our shamanic ‘master of ceremonies’. Taught traditional shamanic practice by his grandfather and other masters since childhood, he speaks Quechua, Spanish and English with delicious humour. Everyone who meets him remembers his wise and joyful spirit. There is no finer guide to the incredible landscapes–visible and invisible–that we visit!

Maestro Puma works with an amazing team, who love to share the depth, humour and wisdom of their paths and traditions. You will be warmly welcomed not so much as a guest but as a member of the family.

Davina has walked a shamanic path since 1992. She has worked with the Q’ero since 2002, and traces her shamanic lineage back to Puma’s family. She has returned to Peru most years since.

Nizami has worked with the indigenous people of Peru since 2007 and with Davina since 2011, when they founded Ayni Foundation together.

We look forward to sharing this magical journey with you. It really is the journey of a lifetime!
